We should accept that a new killing fields will emerge in Afghanistan and bow out now

Update: Canada Pledges Minimum 100 Million A Year For Up To 3 Years to support "The Karzai Villa In Switzerland Fund".

The Globe is reporting that Harper is soon to make an announcement regarding Canada's role in Afghanistan.

No indication on what precisely to expect though the same report indicates Canadians are being asked to pony up an additional 100 million to finance the Afghan Army. This would be the same army whose members regularly murder their supposed allies - that's us.

Regardless of when we leave, ideally sooner rather than later, Afghanistan will be convulsed in bloody civil war and I suspect the Taliban will be returned to power, no doubt aided by our ally Pakistan. 

Leave the Afghans to sort their miserable lives out themselves. Should the next Taliban regime get out of line then we should follow a single simple rule of engagement: Bomb every bit of infrastructure into rubble, that includes every village, every town, every city. 

We lost this war, there is no peace to win.
